Ayaz Sadiq: What his Actual “Crime” is- Peep into Deep

Question is “Ayaz Sadiq is a Traitor for his remarks in NA only? or it is a political and personal rivalry developed by the losers who were first abandoned by him and then who lost again and again against him? And he defeated them repeatedly? From 2002 to 2018.

Imran Khan is said to be the winner. He gets what he intends and struggle for. But here the reality is different. In case of Ayaz Sadiq, Imran Khan is loser, a constant loser.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Imran Khan were class fellows at Aitcheson College Lahore. Pervez Khattak and Shafqat Mehmood , presently ministers of Imran Khan and going to be convicted in PTV ,Parliament Attacks case by Special Court on 12 Nov 2020, were also in this class.

Ayaz Sadiq and Imran Khan were friends and for that Ayaz joined PTI in late 1990s. Ayaz contested election of PTI ticket for Punjab Assembly Seat PP-121 in 1997 election but lost to PMLN candidate.

Later both class fellows and friends developed differences as is the case with many other stalwarts of the then PTI like Akber S Baber (the petitioner in foreign funding case against Imran), Hamid Khan (Barrister), Justice R , Fauziya Qusori and many more.

Ayaz left PTI, joined PMLN in 2001, contested National Assembly Election 2002 from NA-122 that was when the dictator General Pervez Musharraf was in power and Imran Khan was the eyeball of incumbent regime. Interestingly Ayaz won this election and more interestingly the other candidate in the run was none other than……. Imran Khan.

Ayaz Sadiq secured 37,531 votes, defeating Imran Khan, who got 18,638 votes.

Sadiq said on that time “it was a big victory as his leader Nawaz Sharif in exile and Pervez Musharraf, a close aide of Imran Khan at that time, in power”.During his tenure as the member of the National Assembly, he remained a member of the National Assembly’s Standing Committees on Railways, Finance and Defence Production.

The scheduled 2007 general elections were held on February 18, 2008. It was because General Musharraf imposed emergency and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi. That time The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) was on agitation against the rule of Gen Musharraf and PTI was part of this Movement in which PMLN with Nawaz Sharif and PPP with AAZ were the leading parties. APDM first intended to boycott the elections but later AAZ convinced Nawaz not to leave the place for non democratic elements. Imran Khan differed and left the APDM. Later his party boycotted the elections.

In election 2008, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N yet again won in NA-122 with 67,000 votes, followed by PPP’s Mian Muhammad Misbah-ur-Rehman, who bagged 24,000 votes.

In May 2013 Elections, Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N yet again won in NA-122 with 93,389 votes, followed by Imran Khan of PTI with 84,417 votes. Imran Khan launched move against what he claimed “35 Punctures” , that rigging was done in 35 constituencies.

On 22 Aug 2013, Punjab election commission’s tribunal ordered re-polling in NA-122, declaring the election null and void – accepting Imran Khan’s petition challenging the May 2013 election result. Ayaz Sadiq had to leave the seat as well as Speaker ship of NA.

In October 2015, by election was held and Sadiq retained his seat for the fourth time. This election was contested by Aleem Khan of PTI and Imran Khan left this constituency, may be he had foreseen the defeat again.

Ayaz Sadiq defeated Aleem Khan by 3367 votes. Sadiq won the election with 74,525 votes.

On 09 November 2015, Ayaz Sadiq, again was elected Speaker of National Assembly with 268 votes while (PTI) Shafqat Mahmood(class fellow) received 31.Sadiq is the first person in the country’s history to have been elected National Assembly (NA) Speaker for the second time during the same government’s tenure.

Ayaz Sadiq won election NA-129 Lahore-VII by securing 103,021 votes in Election July 2018. Aleem Khan (PTI) got 94,879 votes.

This is Ayaz Sadiq. And this is his story of winning the confidence of his people again and again and this is the case of PTI or Imran Khan of losing their stand repeatedly.

Now one can see for oneself, the labels of traitor on Ayaz Sadiq are for his remarks about Shah Mehmood Qureshy on threat of Indian attack? When Ayaz has clarified already that he said this about SMQ and not about anyone else? Or the allegations and propaganda campaign is only for he defeated PTI leader and his wrestlers again and again?

Turning your own historical rivalries, enmities, grievances towards the state institutions can not earn you a victory and can not declare your rivals the traitors of the country.

And last but not the least….. state institutions also need to understand the phenomenon if we do not term it the TRICKS.
