Belarusian Tractors Donated by President Handed over to Pakistan – Sides hold meetings on Promotion of Cooperation in Trade, Consular Sectors

ISLAMABAD: Monitoring Desk – After the efforts from both sides in last many weeks, the Belarusian tractors arrived Pakistan while bilateral dialogue also took place in both the capitals on promotion of cooperation.
Ambassador Andrei Metelitsa took part in the ceremony of donating two Belarusian MTZ-1025.3 tractors to the Pakistani Side on behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The tractors were handed over to Pakistani side on 19 Feb in Texila.
The Belarusian Side expressed interest in participating in the implementation of the Green Pakistan state agricultural program.
Later, On February 25, 2025 the first Belarusian-Pakistani consultations on consular issues were held in Islamabad.
The head of the Belarusian delegation, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, discussed with Capt R Khurram Agha, federal secretary,  Ministry of Interior of Pakistan. A wide range of issues came under discussion, related to consular cooperation, education, migration policy of the two countries, bilateral legal framework in this area, as well as in the field of combating crime.
The consultations were further confirmation of the close cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in various areas of mutual interest.

 

On February 26, 2025, in Islamabad, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Evgeny Shestakov held a meeting with the Director General Europe Desk at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shafqat Ali Khan.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan, including on consular issues.

The 8th Session of the Joint Belarusian-Pakistani Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Minsk on 10-11 Feb this year.
The Pakistani delegation was headed by the Federal Minister of Commerce of Pakistan, Jam Kamal Khan, and the Belarusian Side was co-chaired by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Aliaksei Kushnarenka.
During the meeting, the Sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including opportunities to strengthen economic, trade, scientific, technical, educational and other ties between the two countries.
On the sidelines of the commission, members of the Pakistani delegation held meetings with Belarusian officials, including First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lukashevich and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vadim Shagoiko.
During these meetings, issues related to the further development of Belarusian-Pakistani relations in various fields and the implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of Belarus and Pakistan were discussed.
