ISLAMABAD: Capital Hospital on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Medical AI to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) based screening solutions in imaging radiology. The ceremony was held at Capital Hospital, which was attended by Executive Director Capital Hospital Naeem Taj, senior doctors and representatives from Alibaba AI.
This initiative is part of the commitment to modernize public health facilities under the vision of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the guidance of CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood.
Under this collaboration, advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies will be integrated into the Radiology Department of Capital Hospital to further improve the process of imaging interpretation and screening. The objective of this initiative is to enhance diagnostic accuracy, enable early disease detection, improve work efficiency and performance and elevate the overall quality of patient care.
The AI-based radiology solutions will assist medical experts by providing accurate analysis of medical images, which will strengthen clinical decision-making. Similarly, this will lead to a reduction in reporting turnaround time as well as an improvement in the department’s performance. This initiative aims to ensure digital innovation and improvement in service delivery within CDA’s public health initiative.
Executive Director Capital Hospital, Dr. Naeem Taj, said that in line with the direction of Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, this collaboration to provide citizens with the best possible medical treatment facilities reflects future-oriented steps for improving public health at Capital Hospital, enabling patients to benefit from cutting-edge medical technologies and providing medical experts with reliable diagnostic tools.
He said that the Memorandum of Understanding with Alibaba Medical AI underscores Capital Hospital’s commitment to the strategic vision of the CDA leadership to adopt modern digital healthcare practices and continuously improve patient outcomes through innovation.
He further added that utilizing modern technology and artificial intelligence to provide citizens with the best possible medical facilities is a welcome step. He expressed the commitment that with the integration of this technology at Capital Hospital, the hospital will soon be counted among the country’s best hospitals.
