Gujranwala : Staff Reporter – Gujranwala is one of the largest industrial and agricultural city of Pakistan, situated in North of Punjab province between two capital cities of Lahore and Islamabad. The city is famous for its industrial base and expertise. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of this city has set up Trade Facilitation Desk for Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan traveled to Gujranwala to attend the opening of the desk. They welcomed the step taken by The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and appreciated the President of GCCI Muhammad Siddiq Khan.
The desk will create new opportunities for business and investment between Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Central Asian countries, and Azerbaijan.
The event brought together leading diplomats, business representatives, experts, and media to discuss investment prospects and economic cooperation.
Gujranwala city is renowned for its developed manufacturing capabilities in metallurgy, machinery, food processing, furniture, fans, washing machines, and many other sectors.
GCCI President highlighted the enormous potential for trade and investment emphasizing that the business community is ready for new projects.
Ambassador Alisher Takhtaev presented Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities, emphasizing the following key points:

Promising areas of cooperation, such as textiles , pharmaceuticals , agriculture , construction materials, home appliances, logistics, and tourism.
The official opening marked an important step in strengthening regional ties. The new information center features commercial offers, investment projects, and analytical materials on Uzbekistan’s business environment.
The ambassadors also visited the Gujranwala Business Center, where discussions focused on supporting youth and women entrepreneurship. Diplomatic representatives also explored the “Made in Gujranwala” industrial exhibition, identifying new cooperation opportunities.
