Islamabad: 10 Feb 2022 – Editor Tazeen Akhtar called on Chairperson National Commission for Child Rights, Ministry of Human Rights Pakistan, Ms Afshan Tehseen Bajwa today at her office. He apprised the Chairperson about recent case of torture by teachers and staff on a minor 5 year old girl child in Armenian kindergarten in the capital city of Yerevan.
The kid’s father is a Pakistani who have lodged complain to police that her child has been tortured only because she is Pakistani and Armenian teacher and staff committed a hate crime. Pakistan does not recognize Armenia. Pakistan supported Azerbaijan in second Karabakh war Sep-Nov 2020.
Editor shared that the kid’s chest was burnt with a hot iron toy. She was handcuffed and molested badly. The most heinous act of hate crime has been reported in Armenian media and we have published the report in our media in English and Urdu.
The Chairperson condemned the act in strongest possible words. She said NCRC stands for every Pakistani child inside or outside of country. She said that victimizing a child only for political reasons is unbearable.
Ms Afshan Tehseen assured that the NCRC will raise this matter at concerned forums. Pakistani children will be protected from any type of hate crime all over the world.
“The parents of the kid can any time contact NCRC for support. We are hopeful that the case will be investigated amicably and the culprits will be held accountable. NCRC will be vigilant in this regard. We will act accordingly if the culprits are left without punishment. ” She assured.
