The matter of misbehavior of the staff of a Bakers in Islamabad with Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan is hot topic of the town that is being discussed in two ways. One opinion is in favor of CJP that he was customer and customer should be treated respectfully. Second opinion is CJP saw what he was doing in the Court Room No 1.
Couple of days ago, CJP Qazi Faez Esa , himself, personally went to Crusteez Donuts where the staff recognized him first and later said, “Curse on you”. The staff also recorded video and made it viral on social media.
Next day , the Bakers was sealed. And Next day an apology appeared from the Bakers in which the administration apologized for the staff. The statement of the Bakers reads as ;
“We are committed to treating every customer with respect and fairness. We are aware of a video circulating where an employee refused service to a customer. This action was an individual decision and does not reflect our company’s values. We are investigating the situation to understand the context fully. While respecting personal beliefs , service should never be denied based on individual opinions. We are reinforcing training across all locations to ensure our teams uphold our standards of inclusivity and professionalism. We apologize to the customer involved and to those impacted.”
Hospitality principles say the same what the Bakers administration admitted in their statement. The staff had no right to utter such hard words to say to any customer. It is not only the staff’s irresponsible act but also speaks a lot about how our restaurants, hotels, bakers are running their affairs. They do not train their staff how to deal with the customers.
CRUSTEEZ did the same that started a business, hired some salesmen from here and there and made them stand on the counters to hurl remarks on the customers according to their political affiliations. Such staff should not seek employment on the public dealing spots but go to the political rallies only and join their favorit political parties.
Here it is also pertinent to note that sealing the Bakers was itself misuse of powers. It added to already ongoing criticizing the chief justice of Pakistan. Now when the Bakers have apologized , the Bakers can be reopened at any time but may be the CJP will never go there again.
