CONGO’S CHIEF OF DEFENSE IN PAKISTAN | Meets CDF , Air Chief Marshal and Naval Chief | MoU Signed on Defense and Security Cooperation

    A high-level defence delegation of the Democratic Republic of Congo, headed by Lieutenant General Banza Mwilambwe Jules, Chief of Defence of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

    Upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting dignitary was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.

    During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security environment and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed.
    Both dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the longstanding cordial relations between Pakistan and Democratic Republic of Congo.

    A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed which aims at broadening and strengthening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.

    The visiting dignitary lauded the professionalism, operational capabilities and unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces of Pakistan towards maintaining peace and stability in the region and acknowledged the significant progress achieved through indigenization and self-reliance.

    Meeting with Air Chief Marshal Pakistan

    The defence delegation of  Congo, headed by Lt Gen Banza Mwilambwe Jules, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and avenues for enhanced defence cooperation came under discussion.

    The Air Chief highlighted the longstanding cordial relations between Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo and underscored the importance of enhanced defence cooperation between the two countries.

    He reiterated PAF’s resolve to further strengthen defence ties and broaden avenues of collaboration, particularly through enhanced interaction, training and exchange of expertise between the armed forces. The Air Chief also apprised the visiting dignitary of PAF’s indigenous capabilities and its continued efforts towards self-reliance.

    The visiting dignitary appreciated the professionalism, operational preparedness and high standards of training maintained by Pakistan Air Force. He expressed keen interest in PAF’s indigenous capabilities and acknowledged the significant progress achieved by PAF through indigenization and self-reliance.

    He underscored his resolve to rebuild & modernize Democratic Republic of Congo’s Air Force and expressed his earnest desire in benefiting from Pakistan Air Force’s vast professional expertise.

    The visit reflects the shared resolve of both countries to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and foster enduring institutional linkages, contributing to regional peace and stability.

    The visiting dignitary also called on Admiral Naveed Ashraf,  Chief of the Naval Staff.
