Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye hosted a grand reception on the auspicious occasion of the National Day of Turkiye that is 29th Oct when 99 years ago on October 29,1923, the Republic of Turkiye was established under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal, after a victorious war of independence.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharifhas felicitated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the 99th Republic Day of Turkiye.In a tweet on Saturday, he said the heroic struggle of Turkish people for independence under the leadership of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk holds a prominent place in the annals of history. Turkiye s impressive economic strides under President Erdogan are acknowledged by the world. Pakistan seeks to deepen its multifaceted ties with Turkiye by further exploring the vast untapped potential in trade, commerce and industry.
The reception was graced with the presence of highest officials from government, military, parliament of Pakistan. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, was the chief guest. State Foreign Minister Ms Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister Shazain Bugti, Advisor to Pm Faisal Karim Kundi, Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat, former deputy chairman Senate Mir Jan Jamali were prominent among the dignitaries from Pakistan.
The ambassador, in his welcome address, first read out the statement of the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ,” I greet you with my most heartfelt feelings, affection and respect. Today we altogether feel the pride and the enthusiasm of celebrating the 99th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkiye.We pursue our uninterrupted struggle to elevate the Republic of Turkiye, which we founded by paying heavy scarifies 99 years ago under very difficult conditions, above the level of contemporary civilizations. Thanks to the democracy and development revolutions, which we have achieved in the last 20 years we removed not only the obstacles raised before the national will but also the thick walls placed between the people and the Republic.
The President said, “We transformed Turkiye into a county with an exemplary democracy an impressive economy, whose diplomacy is followed with interest and which preserves its national unity and brotherhood in the strongest way possible despite all attempts of sabotage.We strive to set up a peace and prosperity zone around us through our entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy, from ending the humanitarian tragedy in Syria to finding a solution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis. As the country which provides the highest amount of humanitarian aid in proportion to its national income, we run to the rescue of all oppressed, victimized, and needy persons regardless of the origin, belief and differences.”
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, in his address said, ” Turkiye and Pakistan enjoy close cordial relations and bilateral cooperation between the two nations is increasing in every sector. Pakistan highly values its brotherly bonds with Turkiye. He appreciated the humanitarian relief assistance of Turkiye after the floods in Pakistan.
The musicians and the chefs from Turkiye were also present at the occasion. The guests tasted the Turkiye cousine while the musicians attracted huge applause on their performance on Turkish traditional music. presented their mesmerizing performances and received applause from the audiences.
