First Motorbike Rally Kicks Off from Islamabad on Central Asia Tour through Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

ISLAMABAD: 01 Aug 2025 – An international motorbike rally promoting regional tourism, peace, and cultural integration was held today at PTDC headquarters, Kohsar Secretariat, Islamabad. This unique initiative has been organized with the support of the Embassies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in Pakistan.

23-day motorbike rally organised by Globe Strainers will cover 5,000 km across Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, highlighting Pakistan’s gateway role to Central Asia.

On August 7, they will enter Uzbekistan via the “Hairatan” border crossing, and visit Termez, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent, before continuing on to Tajikistan.

In each city, the travelers will actively share their impressions on social media — highlighting Uzbekistan’s beauty, safety, tourism infrastructure, and the genuine hospitality of its people.

The rally led by Mr. Mukaram Tareen having 11 bikers, started its journey from Lahore on July 31 and will pass through Islamabad, Kabul, Dushanbe, Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent before returning to Pakistan on August 22, 2025.

The event was graced by:

* Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan – Tourism Coordinator to the PM as Chief Guest.
* Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani – Secretary IPC
* H.E. Mr. Alisher Tukhtayev – Ambassador of Uzbekistan
* H.E. Mr. Saidjon Shafiev – Deputy Head of Mission, Tajikistan
* Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana – Managing Director, PTDC

Souvenirs were presented to the head of the team and other esteemed guests by the MD PTDC.

This initiative marks a major step in promoting regional cooperation, cultural exchange, friendship and peace through tourism.

Ambassador Uzbekistan shared , ” On August 1, we officially launched the international motorbike rally “Central Asia Tour 2025” in Islamabad, which will follow the route: Pakistan – Afghanistan – Uzbekistan – Tajikistan.”

 Ambassador emphasized that this rally is more than just a journey — it is a symbol of friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural connectivity among our nations.

Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential — its ancient cities, modern infrastructure, and warm hospitality, which has become a signature of our national identity on the global stage.

DHM Tajikistan said, on this occasion, this is first Pakistani Motorbike Rally to Tajikistan.  This step is being taken based on the agreements reached during the visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to Pakistan.

“The Embassy welcomes this step and considers it important in attracting a wide range of tourists to the region. At the same time, it wishes the group of motorcyclists from the friendly country a pleasant and memorable trip, Saeedjon mentioned.

The launch ceremony brought together motorbike enthusiasts, bloggers, tour operators, diplomats, and members of the public.
