ISLAMABAD : Pakistan’s Independence Day was celebrated at the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan with national spirit, dignity and due solemnity. A graceful flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Court premises, attended by the Hon’ble Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan; Mr. Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha; Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah; Secretary to Chief Justice Mr. Mazhar Javed Bhatti, the Registrar Mr. Muhammad Hafeez Ullah Khan; and officers and officials of various Wings and Directorates of the Court.
The ceremony formally commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Thereafter, the Honourable Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, hoisted the national flag, followed by the national anthem. On the occasion, a special prayer was offered for the security and sovereignty of Pakistan, as well as for peace, stability, progress, prosperity and the continued elevation of the nation.
In his special address, the Honourable Chief Justice observed that although the present and younger generations had not personally endured the sacrifices made by their forefathers, they remained conscious of those sacrifices and could still witness their enduring impact.
He emphasized the responsibility of passing these values on to future generations so that they may truly appreciate the freedom they enjoy and understand the immense sacrifices made by their forefathers for the creation of Pakistan.
The Honourable Chief Justice further stated that the message and guiding principles for life are already before us; what is required is due attention and sincere action. He emphasized that the true character of an institution should be reflected not merely through words, but through its actions, and expressed the resolve that the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan should distinguish itself as an exemplary institution.
He further stressed that the responsibilities entrusted by Almighty Allah to serve the people must be discharged in the best possible manner, adding that the institution’s true success lies in the satisfaction of the people it serves.
The special participation of children added to the joy of the Independence Day celebrations and further enhanced the spirit of patriotism on the occasion.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Honourable Chief Justice, Honourable Judges and the Registrar joined the participants for a commemorative group photograph. The ceremony concluded with a renewed resolve for the security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the strengthening of national unity.
