Hafter Forces Target Illegal Immigrants Killing 70 – UNO and Libya Condemn the Terrible Massacre

An air strike hit a detention center for mainly African migrants on the Centre Shelter of Illegal immigrants in Municipality of Tajura in a suburb of the Libyan capital Tripoli late on Tuesday 02 July 2019, killing 70 people and wounding more than 130.It was the highest publicly reported toll from an air strike or shelling since Haftar launched a ground and aerial offensive three months ago to take Tripoli, the base of Libya’s internationally recognized government.

The United Nations called for an independent inquiry into the bombing describing the attack as “a war crime and odious bloody carnage”.

The Foreign Ministry of the National Accord Government, on 03 July 2019 condemned with strongest terms this terrible massacre and international airstrikes, demanded the whole International Community and particularly The African Union to take immediate action and investigate to identify the jet related to Hafter Forces aggressors on the Capital Tripoli.
The Foreign Ministry denounced this horrible crime and welcomed the African Union to investigate independently and transparently to hold account on those who are responsible in this crime.

The Foreign Ministry requested to document this crime which violates the international laws and norms and to be condemned by human international rights organizations and to bring those responsible to justice.

The Foreign Ministry before demanded the Security Council to hold emergency session about Libya and to discuss the aggression on the capital Tripoli and to over through the legal governments by force.

We demand the Security Council and the great nations to take full responsibility towards the crimes which levels war crimes and crimes against humanity according to the international laws, agreements and protocols including targeting civil airport.

The Foreign Ministry affirmed that the National Accord Government has taken it’s responsibility to secure illegal immigrants in the Center Shelter which have the attention constantly visited by high government officials at all levels visiting the Center Shelters.
In this regard, the Foreign Ministry addressed the International Community, International Organizations, International Immigration Organization, International Criminal Court, human rights and headed by the International Security Council to open investigation and document this crime.
