Islamabad: Hunerkada and Pehchan Pakistan organised a Colloquy where all eminent educational leaders were present. The aim was to provide a platform for inclusive collaboration by gathering all educational leaders from different institutions. Particularly not forgetting children with special needs.
Hunerkada would like to establish itself as a platform for collaborative activities that promote peace, harmony and creativity.
Safia Cassim (Regional Director for The City School – Southern Region) said “As educationists, we need to create acceptance for mistakes to allow creativity in our classrooms”. We as parents and school are becoming so ‘result oriented’ that we are missing out the present moment of our children.
Nasreen Iqbal (Executive Director for Grammar School Rawalpindi) said, “We need to try to revive our heritage, our customs and treasure them. Despite adversity in the country, there are many success stories that need to be told.”
According to Aamir Khan (Senior Regional Manager Communication – North Beaconhouse School System), “The younger generation today, are embracing the digital platform in being enterprising individuals, hence it is extremely important that entrepreneurship skills are inculcated in them at a young age.”
These were followed by an inspiring talk by Jamal Shah about the value of giving kids early access to creative activities. He referenced Pehchan Pakistan as an example of a platform that may serve as a creative outlet for both adults and children.
He also shed light on the value of having artistic outlets at this time when we are battling the effects the pandemic. Hunerkada is holding an art auction to support flood victims soon.
The event ended with a creativity workshop conducted by Jamal Shah. The activity was for all the educational leaders that were present at the event. It was wonderful to witness the energy in the room as these leaders held crayons after decades.
