The Most senior eye specialists have submitted their report after detailed check up of leader of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Mr. Imran Khan. Senior leaders of PTI visited the specialists after the check up and found it satisfactory. Imran’s own doctors are also satisfied on the check up and the report.
The report is as under ;
Mr Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi s/o Ikram Ullah Khan, about 73 years old male, has been examined on 15th February 2026 by the Medical Board comprising of the following ophthalmologists.
1. Prof. Dr. Nadeem Qureshi (Head of Vitreoretinal department Al-Shifa trust Eye hospital
Rawalpindi)
2. Prof. Dr M Arif khan (Head of Ophthalmology department PIMS. Islamabad)
The findings of the board are as under
Visual acuity
6/24 partial in Right eye and 6/9 in left eye (unaided)
After correction with glasses 6/9 partial in Right eye and 6/6 in left eye
Slit lamp Examination
Both eyes’ anterior segment was quite
Cornea clear bilaterally
No cells in anterior chamber
Right Eye
No NVI seen
Pupil reacting to light and circular,Lens clear
Gonioscopy was done. Angle was open. No NVA’s seen.
Vitreous clear with a few fibrillar opacities seen, no cells appreciated. Mild intragel hemorrhage seen at 6 o’clock periphery.
Fundus finding
Right eye. Disc hyperemic and vessels engorged. Cup obliterated
Moderately dense retinal hemorrhages in all four quadrants.
4-5 cotton wool spots seen in different quadrant.
Resolving macular edema seen. Foveal contour visible. Retina is attached
Left Eye

Macula clear,no gross changes seen at Macula
Periphery clear
No lattice

OCT Findings
Right eye
Right macula edema resolving and reduced
Central macular thickness reduced from 550 to 350 (Improved)
Left Eye-Within normal limits.
This board suggests that the following treatment may be given till further order.
1. Nevanac Eye drops 1+1 (Both eyes)
2. Co-sopt eye drops 1+1 (Right eye only)
3. Systane ultra 1+1+1 (Both eyes)
2nd dose of anti VEGF may be given as per schedule. However, vision has improved from
6/36 to 6/9 partial in the involved eye which is substantially good vision at this stage.
Investigation advised
OCT Angiography and FFA after completion of anti VGEF treatment
In the follow-up of the visit of the Medical Board comprising of Prof Dr Nadeem Qureshi and Prof Dr Muhammad Arif Khan at Adiala Jail, two senior leaders namely Barrister Gohar Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas visited PIMS from 2100 hrs to 2220 hrs on 15 Feb 2026.
During their visit, Prof Dr Nadeem Qureshi Head of Al Shifa Trust Eye hospital and Prof Dr
Muhammad Arif Khan briefed them in detail on current health condition of Mr Imran Khan Niazi.
During the course of briefing by experts, personal physician of Imran Khan including Dr Asim Yousaf and Dr Khurram Mirza were also briefed over phone call (more than 25 minutes) to the extent of their satisfaction.
After detailed briefing, leaders and personal physicians expressed their full satisfaction and
confidence over the treatment given so far and follow up advice recommended by team of senior doctors.
