Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan Determined to Provide Foolproof Security on Election Day

Tashkent/ Uzbekistan: 26 Oct 2024 – For elections, the security officials have special tasks and responsibilities to accomplish in a befitting way to help Election Commission to hold a transparent election with fool proof security of the citizens , candidates as well as the foreign observers.
Very important target for security officials is to dispatch ballot papers and other election materials and apparatus to far flung areas in the country. The interior ministry of Uzbekistan has done this task successfully and is alert to provide security on the election day as well on 27 Oct 2024.
Deputy Minister of Interior Mr. Abdullayev Bekmurod addressed the press conference at the central media center of the Election Commission on 26 Oct and shared the details of the measures taken by the Interior Ministry in this regard.
The Ministry has set up a headquarter in collaboration with the CEC and emergency departments to keep watch on the smooth and safe polling in all over the country. Interior Ministry performs this job whenever there is some big nationwide activity in the country for the sake of peace and stability in the state.
The Interior Ministry spokesperson assured the people and the press that all necessary measures have been taken for peaceful atmosphere during the election. All activities will be monitored round the clock from the operation headquarters of the ministry.
The ministry has installed 504 cctv cameras in the polling stations. 693 buildings have been equipped with safety instruments. The security apparatus has been provided to most of the polling stations throughout the country. The arrangements were decided and reviewed during more than 2053 meetings of the officials of the Interior Ministry.
Mr. Abdullayev Bekmurod said that the movement of foreign observers also need special security measures that are assured by the Interior Ministry.
He said maintenance of law and order is our basic responsibility. We are determined to keep public safety order in all territories of the country.
