RAWALPINDI : Mr. Isphanyar Bhandara MNA visited the Iranian Cultural Center in Rawalpindi, where he was presented by Dr. Mehdi Taheri, Director General of the Center and Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy, with a copy of Iran: The Cradle of Peaceful Religious Coexistence.
The presentation followed Mr. Bhandara’s earlier gift of Gems and Jewels: The Religions of Pakistan to Dr. Taheri last year. During the visit, Mr. Bhandara also presented Dr. Taheri with Rawulpindee: The Raj Years, another book commissioned by him.
Their discussion focused on the religious diversity of Iran, particularly its Zoroastrian, Armenian Christian and Jewish communities, and the country’s long tradition of peaceful coexistence.
Mr. Bhandara also expressed his concern over the war imposed on Iran and hoped for a return to peace and stability in the region.
Dr. Taheri thanked Pakistan for the support it extended to Iran and appreciated its role in efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict
