Rawalpindi, 15 August 2024: In connection with the FGCM proceedings of Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, three retired officers are also in military custody for their actions prejudicial to military discipline.
Further investigations of certain retired officers and their accomplices for fomenting instability at the behest of and in collusion with vested political interests are continuing.
They are possibly Brig R Naeem Fakhar, Brig R Ghaffar and Col R Asim. First two were involved in the Top City case as the accomplices of Lt Gen R Faiz Hameed. ISPR did not mention the names of 3 former officers. Here these names are being shared only on the basis of the history of the case.
Earlier on 12 Aug 2024, Faiz Hameed former Director General Inter Services Intelligence ISI was taken into custody by Pakistan Army complying with the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan, a detailed court of inquiry, was undertaken by Pakistan Army, to ascertain correctness of complaints in Top City Case made against Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd).
Consequently, appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated against Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd), under provisions of Pakistan Army Act.
In addition, multiple instances of violation of Pakistan Army Act post retirement have also been established. The process of Field General Court Martial has been initiated and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed (Retd) has been taken into military custody.
