ISLAMABAD: IRNA – Commander-in-Chief Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appointed Major General Amir Hatami as Chief Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
General Hatami has served as Defense Minister during 2013-2021.
In the official decree, Ayatollah Khamenei cited Hatami’s “dedication, competence, and experience” as the basis for the appointment, calling for a “transformative and revolutionary approach” under his leadership.
“With the Army’s vast pool of capable and faithful personnel, and the experience gained during the Sacred Defense and beyond, it is expected that under your command, efforts to enhance combat readiness, strengthen spiritual and ideological foundations, improve personnel welfare, and boost cooperation with other branches of the Armed Forces will accelerate,” the decree stated.
The Leader also expressed appreciation for outgoing commander Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, praising his “sincere and valuable efforts” during his tenure.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appointed Majid Mousavi as the new commander of the Aerospace Force of the I.R.G.C. following the martyrdom of Amirali Hajizadeh in the Israeli strikes against Iran.

Overnight on Friday, Israel began rounds of strikes in and near Tehran, as well as Natanz, Tabriz, Isfahan, Arak, and Shiraz, among other places.
In a major escalation, the Tel Aviv regime also targeted residential buildings in and near Tehran.
The Israeli military also carried out targeted strikes against Iran’s top military brass. Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri and Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (I.R.G.C.) Major General Hossein Salami were among the senior military officials assassinated in Tehran.
Following the attack, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that the Israeli regime had sealed a “bitter and painful” destiny for itself with overnight strikes on Iran.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the Armed Forces, says the newly-appointed commanders will advance the path of their predecessors with full power.
Shekarchi rejected the Israeli regime’s claim that Iran targeted residential areas during “Operation True Promise 3”, and said “It was this fake, child-killing Israeli regime that attacked our residential areas on Friday, massacring a significant number of innocent civilians—women and children.
The Israeli regime is utterly incapable of intercepting Iran’s powerful, precision-guided missiles—which can penetrate all layers of the Israeli air defenses—even with the help of its supporters, particularly the United States, he added.
The Israeli regime and its supporters have made a grave miscalculation and they believe that by assassinating some of the brave Iranian commanders, they can create weakness for us, he noted.
