After the Surprise attack of Hamas in Israel and the retaliation of Israel in Gaza , the world is almost divided into two parts. Pro Palestine and Pro Israel setting aside the fact that it is not Palestine but Hamas. Most of the people killed in Israeli bombardment at Gaza are not Hamas fighters but innocent civilians who themselves are hostages to Hamas fighters.
In Pakistan, the companies and products having Israeli connection are facing challenges of security and survival. Pakistanis are diehard supporters of Palestinian people. They hate Israel for her cruel activities in the history and after the attack of Hamas as well.
Different community groups and religious organizations are exposing the companies and products of Israeli background. Among them McDonald has issued a statement disowning McDonald business in Israel and emphasizing Pakistani business as a separate unit with nothing to do with Israel.
“McDonald’s in Pakistan is a local enterprise, with full ownership and operation overseen by SIZA Foods Pvt.Ltd.Pakistan. We are not affiliated with McDonald’s operation in Israel, which is a locally owned Israelian enterprise. McDonald’s is Israel operates as s separate entity to McDonald’s Pakistan, and makes its own business and communication decisions, independent of our business in Pakistan, the statement issued by McDolad’s Pakistan reads.
McDonald’s journey began with the inaugural in Lahore in 1998 and now there are 81 restaurants across Pakistan.
The company claims that ” We play a crucial role in bolstering our national economy. We take pride in contributing to employment opportunities, local business partnerships and fostering economic growth.”
“We do not engage in any form of political involvement. Our dedication is solely to delivering the McDonald’s experience you love and trust, the statement concludes.
There is a long list of other companies as well that are related to Israel or that express their sympathy. These companies include Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, Lever Brothers, Unilever, Nestle and many others. Pakistani people share this list always whenever Israel takes some big step against Palestine. If the escalation continues and the Gaza is further destroyed by Israeli rockets, these companies can be target of the furious population and government of Pakistan will not be able to provide security.
The people of Pakistan are already fed up of continuous desecration of Holy Quran in some European countries and earlier than that the blasphemous activities in some media outlets and by some so called writers in the west. They are not ready to sit idol on Israeli advance into Gaza and killings of innocent on the pretext of action against Hamas.
