Minister Aviation’s Statement Baseless, Damaged Country’s Aviation Industry -Dr Nafeesah Shah


Islamabad; Tazeen Akhtar – PPP MNA Dr Nafeesah Shah has rejected Minister Aviation Ghulam Sarwer Khan’s statement that one third of total pilots of PIA have dubious licenses. She has said that this irresponsible statement will damage aviation industry of Pakistan. She has demanded resignation of the minister. She termed this statement as baseless.

Dr Nafeesah Shah was speaking in National Assembly on 26 June 2020  on overall performance of government. Speaker Asad Qaisar once during her speech shut down her mic but she refused to give in. In the meanwhile opposition benches protested on which speaker had to open the mic and let Dr Nafeesah speak again.

She pointed out how the ministers are behaving at public forums like tv shows and how much non seriousness is prevailing in the government circles. She said that Ghulam Sarwer Khan’s statement can close down the flights of Pakistan. He has caused damage to PIA and CAA.

Dr Nafeesah Shah criticizing the process of inquiry asked how the inquiry commission has been established. It is said that the commission was formed in accordance with flight safety law. When this law was passed. It has never been promulgated in the Parliament. It means the inquiry commission is not legal.
