ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has dismissed a petition by Zulfiqar Ahmed, Director General of NADRA, challenging the cancellation of his degree equivalency by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The court’s decision was based on the fact that Ahmed’s degrees from Westwood College and George Mason University could not be verified by the institutions themselves.
That is the state of affairs in Pakistani departments that are most sensitive and that are checking the identity of others and that are issuing certificates of authenticity to others , are themselves so ignorant towards the degrees of their own officials.
NADRA has not shared any detail who recruited him on this high position and what action NADRA is taking against the official who worked there for long before being detected.
NADRA is supposed to release details of this matter and clear its position. Also is the needful to clarify how many other officers are working in the organization and what degrees they possess because after this case NADRA has lost the trust of the public about the merit and transparency in the organization.
