PDA will train the staff of federal divisions in collaboration with NITB.
Islamabad : Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, declaring the National Digital Master Plan as an important priority of the Federal Government, said that efforts will be made to include the Plan in the agenda of the upcoming consultative meeting of the Prime Minister with the provincial Chief Ministers.
He said this while presiding over a meeting on the affairs of the Pakistan Digital Authority.Federal Minister IT and Telecom Shaza Farima Khwaja was also present in the meeting. Chairperson PDA Dr. Sohail Munir and other officials of the Authority attended the meeting.
Special consideration was given to the establishment of uniform digital record and registry of patients in public and private hospitals. Digitalization projects of various sectors including health, education and commerce will be reviewed in the next meeting.
The Federal Minister said that Digital Governance, Digital Economy and Digital Society are the basic pillars of the National Digital Master Plan. Progress in every sector and improvement of public services is possible through digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. He said, sector-wise projects of PDA should have workable goals and realistic completion period clearly defined.
Minister said that a coordinated strategy should be made to teach modern digital and Artificial Intelligence related skills to students in educational institutions. Ahad Cheema directed that it is necessary to teach the new generation digital skills compatible with future requirements through the formal education system.
The Federal Minister said that ID card-based computerized system will help in patients’ records and continuity of treatment. He directed to train the existing IT staff for digitalization in ministries and divisions. He said that after E-Office, available staff can be trained and utilized for government digitalization.
PDA will train the staff of federal divisions in collaboration with NITB.
Appreciating PDA’s services in the launch of Prime Minister Fuel Relief Scheme, he said that PDA’s initiatives including PMOS System should be extended to more public sectors.
Dr. Sohail Munir briefed the Federal Minister that consultation with provincial IT departments and stakeholders on National Digital Master Plan is ongoing.
The Federal Minister said that the purpose of National Digital Framework is not to interfere in provincial jurisdiction but mutual harmony, better planning of public services will be possible with authentic data and sector-wise registries.
