The Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad celebrated their Armed Forces Day on 26 Feb at Serena Hotels with participation of high officials of Pakistan Army that expressed strengthening cooperation between the two countries of South Asia.
H.E Ms. Rita Dhital, Ambassador of Nepal and Col. Bhes Bahadur KC Military Attache hosted a reception to mark the day in which Lt General Muhammad Munir Afsar, Chairman National Database and Registration Authority, Registrar General of Pakistan was chief guest.
Ambassador shared, This evening is also an opportunity to reflect on the strong and enduring ties between Nepal and Pakistan. We share a history of friendly and cooperative relations that have been nurtured through decades of mutual respect understanding and goodwill.
“Our two countries have a huge prospects of further expanding and diversifying our relations for mutual benefits. As we move forward , I am confident that our bilateral relations will continue to grow stronger, She said.
Ambassador spoke highly about bilateral cooperation with Pakistan. She mentioned , “Military to Military cooperation has been an integral part of our bilateral engagements. Over the years exchanges of military training programs, visits and dialogues between the two Army, have contributed to strengthening our ties.”
” We deeply appreciate the opportunities provided by Pakistan to Nepali military personnel in training and capacity building programs. Such interactions not only enhance our respective capacities but also foster deeper understanding and trust between our two forces, H.E added.
Ms. Rita Dhital extended the warmest greetings to all members of the Nepali Army , both at home and abroad, who have dedicated their lives, to safeguarding the sovereignty , peace and prosperity of the nation.

She paid tributes to the sacrifices of those who have laid down their livers in the line of duty. She also recognized the contribution of the family members of soldiers for their unwavering support and resilience.
Ambassador said, The Nepali Army, with its rich history, spanning over two centuries, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to serving the people of Nepal.
From the unification of Nepal, to defending our sovereignty during challenging times from the disaster relief operations during earthquakes and floods, to infrastructure development in remote areas , the Nepali Army has always stood, as a symbol of courage, discipline, patriotism and selfless service.
On the stage, other officials of Pakistan Army, Dean of diplomatic corp, Ambassador Turkmenistan, Atadjan Movlamov, Acting High Commissioner of India, Ms Geetika Shrivastav, Acting H.C Sri Lanka, Maldives, Dean of Defense Attaches Brig. Gen. Abu Rubel Md Shahabuddin of Bangladesh graced the event.
Defense attaches of many countries also attended the event with their families. It demonstrated the cordial relations of Nepali Army with the armed forces of other countries. Another notable thing in the event was the participation of the officers of Nepal who are attending the training courses in Pakistan.
