Pak-Kazakh Direct Connectivity – Dream Comes True Today – Flight from Almaty to Lahore

Kazakhstan’s SCAT airline is starting directing flights from historical and cultural city of Almaty to Pakistan’s historical and cultural city of Lahore and first flight from Almaty is taking off and landing today, 08 July 2023. Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin, his team, government officials and business leaders will welcome the flight at Lahore airport. It takes only two hours that indicates the nearness of both countries. SCAT air will operate two flights a weak on Wednesday and Saturdays between two cities to connect the people and business community of both brother countries .

Direct connectivity between two countries was a dream that is becoming true today and the credit goes to Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin who left no stone unturned to make it possible. The airline will use Boeing 737 air crafts for the flights. The airline has 27 air crafts including Boeing 737, 757 and 767. Bilateral trade is already increasing since last few years. Present level of mutual trade is more than 220 Million Dollar. The direct connectivity will definitely give a boost to the bilateral trade in favor of both countries.

Business leaders from all major chambers of commerce in Pakistan have welcomed the direct flights operation from Kazakhstan side and urged on the government of Pakistan to reciprocate by starting flights of Pakistan International Airlines for Almaty and the capital city of Astana.

Kazakhstan and Pakistan have very good relations and both countries support each other at regional and international fora. Both countries are members of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Economic Cooperation Organizations and other international organizations. Kazakhstan attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan.

Kazakhstan supported Pakistan’s full membership at SCO thanks to which Pakistan became the member in 2018. Leaders of both countries have visited the capitals of each other to strengthen the mutual bonds in all sectors. This direct approach in shape of flights will further enhance the linkages and will open new avenues of cooperation. Kazakhstan is gateway to Central Asia, Eurasia and Europe.
