Pak-Kazakh Pharma Industry Cooperation Discussed in Webinar with PPMA

Islamabad, Feb 16, 2022 – In collaboration with the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, the online negotiations were organized between the «SK-Pharmacy» LLP leadership, PharmMedIndustry, Kazakhstan Association of Pharmaceutical and Medical Production Manufacturers and Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association PPMA.

Dr. Zarqa Suharwardy Taimur, Pakistan Parliament Senator took part in the event as a guest of honor. In general, more than 40 representatives of the pharmaceutical industry of two countries took part in the webinar.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin reminded of the instruction of K.Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to develop the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan. In this context, taking into account the experience and developments of Pakistan in pharmaceutical industry which occupies a leading position in the international market, he noted the existing potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation in this area.

In his turn, Yerkhat Iskaliyev, the Chairman of «SK-Pharmacy» LLP Board, expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with the Pakistani side, inviting them to invest in joint ventures opening in Kazakhstan.

Aigul Syzdykova, the Head of “SK-Pharmacy” Strategy Department, informed the participants about the organization activities, priority areas, investment projects in the pharmaceutical field of Kazakhstan, and also called on representatives of the IRP pharmaceutical industry to actively cooperate.

For their part, the leaders and members of Pakistan Association also noted partnership prospects between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the field of pharmaceuticals, expressing their readiness to visit Kazakhstan for substantive negotiations and consideration of specific projects.

As a result of the event, the parties agreed to establish bilateral cooperation for relevant information exchange.
