Baku; report.az + azernews.az + trend.az – 20 April 2021; Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Alizadeh met with Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi congratulated Azerbaijan on its historic victory in the Second Karabakh War. He noted that Pakistan has always supported Azerbaijan’s just position; the support of our countries is not driven by any material interests but is based on the historical roots of our peoples, religious, cultural, and common ties. Niazi praised Azerbaijan’s support for Pakistan in the Kashmir issue.
Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi stressed that Azerbaijani naval officers participated in the AMAN-21 international naval exercise held by the Pakistani Navy and wished Azerbaijan to increase its participation in the future. He noted that the existing education, training, and military-technical capabilities of the Pakistani Navy are always open to the Azerbaijani Navy.
Congratulating Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi on his appointment as the Chief of the Pakistan Navy, Ambassador Ali Alizadeh thanked for the congratulations on Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War.
He stressed that the state and people of Azerbaijan highly appreciate the political and moral support of the state and people of Pakistan. The ambassador said Azerbaijan was interested in military cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation in naval forces would continue successfully and develop further.
The sides also exchanged views on regional security and other issues of mutual interest.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Islamabad Ali Alizade and Pakistani Navy Commander Admiral Mohammed Amjad Khan Niazi have discussed military cooperation between the two countries, the Azerbaijani embassy has reported.
At the meeting, Niazi recalled the participation of the Azerbaijani Navy in the AMAN-21 exercises in Pakistan and noted that his country’s navy is ready to educate and provide military-technical capabilities to Azerbaijan.
The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Pakistan in the military sphere, saying that the interaction of the naval forces of the two countries continues successfully.
The Pakistani navy commander reiterated his country’s support for Azerbaijan’s fair position over Karabakh. The commander congratulated Azerbaijan on the historic victory in the Second Karabakh War. He stressed that Pakistan always supports the fair position of Azerbaijan and this support is based on the historical, religious and cultural ties between the Pakistani and Azerbaijani nations.
The commander also highly assessed Azerbaijan’s support to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.
In turn, Alizade stressed that the Azerbaijani state and nation highly value Pakistan’s political and moral support. At the meeting, the two men also focused on regional security and other issues of mutual interest.
Since the start of the 44-day war with Armenia in 2020, Pakistan was among the first countries supporting Azerbaijan. Pakistan supports Azerbaijan in the restoration of the country’s liberated territories.
Relations between the two countries date back to 1991. Pakistan was among the first three countries to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence.

Pakistan always supports the fair position of Azerbaijan, Pakistani Navy Commander Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi said at a meeting with, Ali Alizadeh, head of Azerbaijani Embassy in Islamabad, Trend reports referring to the embassy.
Niazi congratulated Azerbaijan on the liberation of its territories from Armenian occupation in the Second Karabakh War (from late Sept. through early Nov.2020).
According to him, this support is based on the historical, religious, and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries.
The commander also highly appreciated the support provided by Azerbaijan to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.
