Pakistan Academy of Letters & Ukraine Embassy to Promote Cooperation in Literary Sector

Islamabad; “Dr. Olena Bordilovska Second Secretary, Culture & Humanitarian Issues, Embassy of Ukraine visited Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) along with the message of H.E Markian Chuchuk ambassador has proved a prolific step in opening up a new literary window to ponder upon the possibilities of setting up a long term and fruitful relations/the joint projects in the fields of literature/language between Pakistan and Ukraine”. These words were expressed by Chairman, PAL Dr. Yousuf Khushk, meritorious Prof during his meeting with Dr. Olena Bordilovska during her visit to PAL .

“For the last few years, we tried to organize the celebration by providing the recitations of National poets of Ukraine and Pakistan on the day of National language day of Ukraine. I welcome Chairman Pakistan Academy of letters to add his vision for future literary dialogue and collaboration between Pakistan and Ukraine.” H.E Markian Chuchuk’s message for PAL.

The visit was organized to discuss the Mutual Translation and Publication of Classic/contemporary Works between Ukraine and Pakistan so that the ways of establishing strong relation between the writers of both the countries may be paved.

“Pakistan is having a rich Literary/Cultural Heritage which has commonalities with Ukranian Culture and Literature i.e food, clothing, ways of living and many others. The Chairman PAL is really contributing in a true spirit in this regard which is commendable.

”These were the views of the Ukranian Representative after having a briefing on PAL’s literary activities and future plans. Gifts of books were presented from both the sides.

The representative also visited the Academy and got pleased to know about the translations of World Literature into Urdu and other Pakistani languages from the platform of PAL and other Future Plans of PAL.
