KOREA EMBASSY ORGANIZES A MUSICAL KOREAN NIGHT EVENT IN ISLAMABAD

Islamabad: 25 Nov 2022 – The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Islamabad, organized the Korean Night at the Embassy on the 25th of November. One of the highlights of the event was the featuring of the famous traditional Samul nori music and dance performance. A team of performers were flown in all the way from Korea just to perform at the event, and to give the audience a deep insight into the rich Korean music heritage. The word Samul means “four objects”, while Nori means “play”, and when played together are called Samul nori.

The Event also featured modern K-Pop music followed by a dinner reception for the audiences to enjoy the k-pop music and performance. A large number of participants including diplomats, representatives of international organizations, as well as officials from the Government, and students from the Korean Language Institute of NUML University enjoyed the event.
Ambassador Suh Sangpyo in his welcome address shared the information about the Korean culture and similarities with Pakistan. He said the languages of both countries have many common words. He said culture exchange plays pivotal role in bringing the nations closer to understand one another.
Korean Night, also known as K-Night, is a celebration of Korean culture and music. It is packed with K-pop performances, along with many opportunities to experience Korean culture through music, games, art, fashion, free giveaways, and more. This annual cultural event aims to celebrate, promote and raise the awareness of the vibrancy and diversity of the Korean culture. Visitors  experience the richness of Korea’s cultural heritage and its modern allure through a range of exhibits including Korean Food, Korean traditional costumes, Games and Taekwondo. K-pop, the forefront of Hallyu is featured widely at the event. The night culminates with a riveting display of songs and dances performed by talented groups.
