Dushanbe Water Process Monitoring Desk
Within the framework of the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, the Water Festival was held on 25 May 2026 at the Navruzgoh Cultural and Entertainment Park.
The event brought together delegations from various countries, representatives of international and regional organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, participants of the Conference, as well as residents and guests of Dushanbe.
The Festival was held with the aim of drawing attention to the importance of preserving water resources, raising awareness of the vital role of glaciers in providing clean drinking water, and promoting responsible attitudes toward water as one of the world’s most valuable natural resources.
The event also highlighted the need for joint action by the international community in addressing current climate and environmental challenges.
During the Festival, the achievements and initiatives of Tajikistan in advancing the global water agenda were presented, along with ongoing efforts aimed at glacier protection and the sustainable management of water resources.
The Festival programme included exhibitions of traditional handicrafts and decorative arts, presentations of Tajik national cuisine, displays of drinking water products, a concert programme featuring renowned artists, a national fashion show, as well as other cultural and entertainment activities.
Held in a festive and welcoming atmosphere, the Water Festival offered participants an opportunity to become more familiar with the rich history, culture, and traditions of the Tajik people.
The Water Festival became a vibrant symbol of international cooperation, environmental responsibility, and the rich cultural heritage of Tajikistan.
Its colorful cultural program, national traditions, and unique spirit of hospitality made the festival one of the most remarkable events of the Conference.
