Dushanbe Water Process Monitoring Desk On 25 May 2026 in Dushanbe, within the framework of the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, thematic forums were held dedicated to key issues of the global and regional water agenda.
The forums brought together representatives of governments, the United Nations system, the scientific and expert community, the private sector, as well as youth and non-governmental organizations, ensuring cross-sectoral dialogue on pressing challenges, exchange of experience, and strengthening of partnerships.
The outcomes of these discussions provided a foundation for the plenary sessions and practical recommendations of the conference.
The forums addressd the following themes: gender equality and the role of women in the water sector; transboundary cooperation in Central Asia; water and climate risks; regional coordination on the cryosphere; youth engagement; investment and innovative financing for water infrastructure; food security; the nexus approach in water resources management; the water–artificial intelligence interface; and digital solutions in the water sector.
The forums aimed to strengthen international cooperation, promote innovation, and enhance the effectiveness of water resources management in support of sustainable development.
