Pakistan All Set to Extend Warm Welcome to Vice Premier He. Lifeng of China

Report : Tazeen Akhtar / Pakistan especially the capital city Islamabad is all set to welcome the honorable guest from time tested iron brother People’s Republic of China. Vice Premier He Lifeng will be arriving in Islamabad today 30 July for a three-day visit on the auspicious occasion of 10 years of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the flagship project of One Belt One Road Initiative of China. The administration of Capital Territory Islamabad has announced a holiday for two days to extend a befitting welcome to the visiting dignitary and his delegation. 

Federal Ministers Rana Sana Ullah and Ahsan Iqbal welcomed the visiting dignitary at Islamabad International. Chinese Vice Premier will call on  President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss matters of mutual interest and cooperation.

He Lifeng has been a prominent figure in China’s international economic relations and has played a crucial role in the successful implementation of various CPEC projects in Pakistan during his tenure as Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized, in her press briefing that Vice Premier Lifeng’s visit is part of the regular high-level exchanges and dialogues between Pakistan and China. It reflects the continued commitment of both countries to strengthen their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

CPEC’s 10-year, transformed Pakistan’s development landscape: PM

At the invitation of the Government of Pakistan, H.E. He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party will visit Pakistan from 30 July to 01 August 2023.

As shared by the Foreign Office of Pakistan, during the visit, Vice Premier He will attend the 10th-anniversary celebrations of CPEC and call on the President and the Prime Minister. He will also be the chief guest at an event celebrating the Decade of CPEC.

Vice Premier He Lifeng has played a prominent role in China’s international economic relations and implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC is a flagship project. As the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (2017-23), he was instrumental in the planning and execution of multiple CPEC projects in Pakistan.

The visit is part of regular high-level exchanges and dialogue between Pakistan and China. It reflects the importance attached by Pakistan and China to further deepen their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership”; reaffirm support on issues of each other’s core interests; enhance economic and financial cooperation; advance high-quality development of CPEC; and explore new avenues for strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
