The Prime Minister Imran Khan took very hard the envoys of European Union while addressing a public rally in Mailsi city of South Punjab on 06 March 2022. He criticized all of them referring to a letter of them written to him in which they have asked to condemn Russian Invasion on Ukraine. Issue a statement against Russia.
He asked some questions to EU envoys posted in Islamabad. The questions help find what the envoys have written to Prime Minister Pakistan. It may contain restrictions on trade and sanctions on Pakistan if Russian Invasion is not condemned and Pakistan does not change its present position of abstention.
Prime Minister questioned the EU envoys ” Have you written that type of letter to Indian Prime Minister on what he is doing in Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir? When India revoked special status of J&K? Have you asked India why you are doing this? Have you restricted trade with India?
Imran Khan made it clear that ” We are not your slaves. We will not do whatever you say.”
“Who gave you so much liberties (to write such letters to the government of host country). Certainly they are former rulers who had accumulated piles of wealth in your countries. They feared if they do not obey you , your governments will confiscate their wealth.” Prime Minister elaborated.
An angry Prime Minister questioned the EU Envoys ;
” Did you thanked Pakistan? Have you ever appreciated Pakistan? When Pakistan stood by NATO, the EU military alliance and sacrificed more than 80 thousand lives, born 100 Billion dollar worth damages to infrastructure, economy etc? We had 3.5 Million IDPs because of your war on terror. What NATO sacrificed was less than 10 % of this loss.”
He said ” We are against wars and we want end of Russia-Ukraine war. But have you ever thought why we were hit hundreds of times with the drones of same party whom we were supporting?”
” Had they any shame on hitting a country with drones that was ally in their own so called war,”?
This was the address of Prime Minister of host country about all EU Ambassadors. Now we also have 2 questions;
“The EU Envoys are Persona non Grata now on in Pakistan,”?
” How they can perform their duties when the head of host country express his dissatisfaction on the conduct of envoys publicly,”?
MOFA Pakistan should come fore with clear answer to these questions.
Another thing to see into is , not only the EU envoys were active in demanding condemnation of Russian Invasion but Charge d Affaires of USA, High Commissioner of UK, Canada, Ambassador of Japan also signed a letter in which Pakistan was pursued to review her stance on Russian Aggression.
