Islamabad – Federal Minister Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has expressed Pakistan’s keen desire to expand bilateral ties with brotherly country Malaysia in trade, food security, and regional cooperation. He made these remarks in his address at the reception hosted by the High Commissioner of Malaysia in Islamabad to commemorate the 69th National Day of Malaysia.
Mr. and Mrs. H.E Dato’ Mohammad Azhar bin Mazlan, the High Commissioner hosted the reception at Serena Hotels Islamabad on 16 Sep 2026. Federal Minister Investment Qaisar Ahmad Shaikh, Dean of Diplomatic Corp , Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov, Chair of ASEAN Committee Islamabad, Ambassador Philippine Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez were also present alongwith government dignitaries, ambassadors , defense attaches , businessmen community, civil society and media persons.
Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain was chief guest at this occasion who congratulated the people and the government of Malaysia on their auspicious day and said it is heartening to note that both countries are celebrating decades of strong friendship and cooperation.
He admired the transformative development of Malaysia from an agri based country into an industrial model. He said , Malaysia’s progress is worth following and other nations may learn from Malaysia. Minister was positive on enhancing already close and cordial relations and strengthening cooperation in trade and tourism.
The High Commissioner Dato Mohammad Azhar Mazlan expressed his gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its warm hospitality and the honour bestowed upon the Malaysian nation. He highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal bonds between Malaysia and Pakistan, founded on shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for regional prosperity.
The evening highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries, with a shared resolve to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, education, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
A traditional Malaysian cultural performance and a special art exhibition were also part of the celebrations, adding vibrant colors to the event and showcasing Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage. The celebration included cake-cutting, traditional Malaysian cultural and dance performances, and a dinner featuring Malaysian cuisine.
