Pakistani Delegation Visits Uzbekistan – Calls on PM in Tashkent – Expresses Commitment on Trans Afghan Railway

Uzbekistan: September 16, 2025: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan met with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Mr. Abdullah Aripov.

Tashkent : 16 Sep 2025 – Pakistani delegation led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan is visiting Uzbekistan. Representatives from State Bank, National Bank, SIFC and Ministry of Industries also participate in the visit.

The delegation called on Uzbek Prime Minister Abdullah Arepov. Haroon Akhtar Khan conveyed best wishes from Prime Minister of Pakistan. Uzbek PM expresses best wishes to Pakistani leadership

He said, Pakistan committed to timely launch of Trans-Afghan Railway project. Proposal to open National Bank of Pakistan branch in Uzbekistan was also discussed.

Haroon Akhtar said, Pakistan, Uzbekistan are considering extension of preferential trade agreement. Pakistani investment opportunities, especially in pharmaceutical sector are under discussion.

Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations will be further strengthened. Both countries committed to continuing high-level contacts. Business relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will be further promoted. Pakistan and Uzbekistan will advance joint projects, Haroon Akhtar Khan shared.
