Islamabad; 25 Aug 2020 – The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Pakistan Ahmed Jawad Rabei recieved two high level delegations of Pakistan’s political parties at the embassy on 25 Aug 2020. Delegations of Pakistan Peoples Party and Jamat e Islami Pakistan visited the embassy to express their solidarity with Palestinian people in the background of latest developments in the middle east.
PPP delegation consisted of Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Raza Rubbani, Former Speaker of the Senate, and Member of Parliament / Faisal Karim Kundi, Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
Jamat e Islami delegation included its Amir , Senator, Siraj Al-Haq and his deputy, Mian Muhammad Islam, former MNA.
The Ambassador presented them the latest situation in Palestine, the American deal of the century, the Israeli annexation plans for more of the occupied Palestinian territories, and the tripartite agreement between the UAE, Israel and the United States of America.
Members of the delegations affirmed Pakistan’s historical position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. They also affirmed the steadfast position of the government and people of Pakistan not to recognize Israel. In the end of the meeting they conveyed their greetings to His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas.
They expressed their full solidarity with Palestine and affirmed the historical position of all Pakistani governments in support of Palestine at the regional and international levels and supported the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Senator / Siraj Al-Haq, praised the recent Palestinian leadership meeting in Ramallah in the presence of all Palestinian political parties, including the Islamic parties, which embodied the unity of the Palestinian people in the face of dangers and challenges.
