Qatar Fund for Development sends medical aid to Pakistan to combat Corona pandemic

Doha/Islamabad; 26 Aug 2021 – In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the state of Qatar. A shipment of medical Aids was sent by Qatar Fund for Development On Wednesday, 18th August 2021, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Carrying all kinds of health supplies, including 50 oxygen machines and medicines to tackle the Corona pandemic, arrived in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Islamabad, Where the shipments were received at Islamabad Airport by officials from the medical wing of the Pakistani army. The shipment will be delivered in stages, as this is the first batch and there will be more shipments of medical aid.

His Excellency Mr. Khalifa Al-Kuwari, Director General of Qatar Fund for Development, stated, “This medical aid of great importance comes to complement the great efforts made by the State of Qatar to combat the aftermaths of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, which had a great impact on the world and created many difficulties at all levels, and out of the joint international responsibility The State of Qatar stands at the fore in contributing to the process of confronting this pandemic that threatens everyone. The State of Qatar, under its wise leadership, did not hesitate to assist brotherly and friendly countries to contribute in limiting and preventing the spread of the Pandemic. “

On this occasion, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, stressed that while the State of Qatar has worked to fortify the internal situation and protect it from the pandemic and its various repercussions, it has not forgotten its humanitarian duty towards friendly countries as well, and the State of Qatar has affirmed its standing and solidarity with other countries. The friendly country during the Covid-19 crisis and harnessed all efforts to provide support and assistance to it, noting that since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, the State of Qatar has provided urgent medical assistance to about 80 countries in addition to various international organizations.

HE praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, and stressed that the State of Qatar attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, adding that this assistance confirms the strength of relations between the two countries and reflects the State of Qatar’s standing and solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the government and people, expressing his hope that this assistance will contribute to Strengthening the efforts of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in protecting the Pakistani people from the epidemic.

The shipment was received at Islamabad Airport by the officials of Health Directorate of the Pakistan Army.

This aid is considered an implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the state of Qatar, which is delivered though several stages, as this is the first batch and there will be more shipments of medical aid.

This medical aid provided by the State of Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries comes within the framework of the efforts made to combat the outbreak of the corona epidemic, which represents a common threat facing the whole world and based on the common international responsibility.
