Qatar Keen to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation with Pakistan

Islamabad-Ambassador of the State of Qatar H.E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdul Rehman Al-Thani paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on 17 Aug 2020.

Foreign Minister Qureshi congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his responsibilities and assured him of the Ministry’s cooperation and support. The Foreign Minister appreciated the measures taken by Qatar to curtail the spread of Covid-19 and reduce its impact.

While appreciating the close fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar, the Foreign Minister discussed ways and means of enhancing the existing economic cooperation, investment in food security and other sectors.

The Foreign Minister also underscored the important role played by Qatar in the Afghan Peace Process. Views were also exchanged on regional and global developments.

Ambassador Saoud conveyed warm greetings from the Qatari leadership to the Pakistani leadership. He discussed Qatar’s plan to enhance bilateral cooperation in myriad fields and undertake educational projects in Pakistan.

He also conveyed Qatar’s interest in enhanced investments in Pakistan. Highlighting the excellent relationship between the leadership of the two countries, the Ambassador underlined that the State of Qatar would continue to work with Pakistan for further strengthening bilateral relations.
