On October 1991, 18, the Constitution Act of Azerbaijan on State Independence was adopted in the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With this important historical document, our nation, who saw the January 20 massacre and sacrificed hundreds of martyrs and victims in the fight for independence, has reached its independence since many years. However, the beginning of a new era was established in the history of Azerbaijan.
The Republic of Azerbaijan, which declared its independence, began to operate under very complex historical conditions. In the first years of our independence, our neglected neighbor Armenia’s treachery removed our compatriots from their grandfather’s lands, implemented cunning plan with the support of their supporters, committed the Khojaly genocide, occupied Shusha, Lachin and other lands, as a result of the state coup in 1992 taking over power has caused a serious threat to our independence. The return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power at the persistent request of the people, who had a great political experience in such a difficult time, ended this danger once.
The implementation of foreign and domestic policies, energy projects implemented by general leader Heydar Aliyev, and the implementation of fundamental reforms in all spheres of the economy gave its benefits for the sake of the future of our country. Over these years, Azerbaijan has developed its state independence by confidence and the stability in our country has been fully restored.
Today, the distant policy carried out by Mr. Ilham Aliyev, a worthy follower of the Great Leader, successfully ensures stable and consistent development of our country.
During the 18th anniversary of Mr. Ilham Aliyev’s presidency, Azerbaijan has become one of the most powerful states of the world both politically and economically. Due to the pace of economic growth, our country has reached a leading position in the region.
Contract of the Century, TANAP and other important energy projects play an important role in the more prosperous life of our people, and also serve to increase Azerbaijan’s significance and reputation in the international arena. With the initiative, leadership and organization of the First Vice President, UNESCO and ISESCO, international events carried out in the country and abroad, humanitarian, cultural, charity, education, sports, music and other spheres, great boost to the increase of Azerbaijan’s reputation in the world He has given it to me.
As a result of the care shown to the development of the non-oil sector, a huge increase in agriculture, information technologies, tourism, infrastructure development and other areas are observed. Social policy is always considered the priority area of our state, great funds are put to the creation of social infrastructure, and the problems of our compatriots and internally displaced persons are successfully solved.
