Romania at PIMEC 2025 – Strengthening Maritime Bridges Between the Black Sea and the Arabian Sea

Karachi: 03 Nov 2025 – Ambassador of Romania , HE Dan Stoenescu participated in the opening of the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025) in Karachi, an impressive platform bringing together maritime leaders, industry representatives, and policymakers from around the world to discuss innovation, sustainability, and cooperation in the maritime sector.
Romania was proudly represented by Rear Admiral Marcel Neculae, Deputy Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces, underlining our country’s strong commitment to international naval dialogue and maritime security cooperation.
On this occasion, he met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, Pakistani officials and members of Parliament with whom he discussed opportunities for collaboration between between our ports and maritime industries.
PIMEC 2025 provides an excellent platform to explore new avenues of cooperation — from maritime training and technology exchange to port development, shipbuilding, and green shipping solutions. Romania, through the Port of Constanța, stands as a natural gateway between Europe and Asia, complementing Pakistan’s strategic role as a hub on the Arabian Sea.
Ambassador has said, Together, we can strengthen maritime connectivity, promote sustainable trade routes, and build lasting partnerships between our two friendly nations.
