KARACHI : Ambassador of Romania HE Dr Dan Stoenescu met  with the leadership of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) — one of Pakistan’s most dynamic business institutions — to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between Romania and Pakistan, with a special focus on Sindh and Karachi as Pakistan’s main industrial and financial hub.
The sides’ discussions focused on:
1-Strengthening economic and commercial relations between our two countries.
Exploring mechanisms to increase bilateral trade, encourage business-to-business connections, and attract Romanian investment in Pakistan.
2-Identifying opportunities for joint ventures, technology transfer, and trade diversification.
3-Promoting Romania as a gateway to the European Union market, connecting Pakistani exporters to over 450 million consumers.
Ambassador presented Romania as a reliable EU business partner — a country with a stable investment climate, skilled workforce, and strategic location at the crossroads of Europe. Romania seeks balanced and mutually beneficial cooperation, emphasizing value-added exports, industrial collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
Both sides agreed that current bilateral trade — around USD 250 million annually — remains below potential, and we should aim to double this figure within the next three years. We also explored:
Partnerships between KCCI and Romanian Chambers of Commerce, Plans for a Romanian Trade & Investment Fair in Karachi (2026), and Cooperation in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, IT, textiles, and manufacturing.
Romania’s expertise in renewable energy, construction materials, agricultural machinery, and engineering complements Pakistan’s strengths in textiles, leather, pharmaceuticals, and IT — opening exciting prospects for joint ventures and technology exchange.
Ambassador shared at the occasion, The Embassy of Romania remains fully committed to supporting business connectivity through trade missions, virtual matchmaking, and continuous dialogue between our private sectors. Together, Romania and Pakistan can build a strategic economic partnership grounded in trust, innovation, and mutual growth.
