Today is 100th day in a raw as Ukraine has been resisting a full-scale military aggression of Russia, aimed to destroy the Ukrainian statehood, to establish occupational control over all territory of Ukraine.
The true objective of Russian so called “denazification” is the extermination of the Ukrainian nation, its distinct identity, deprivation of its right to independent development.
Despite the use of its best military units, Russia so far failed to reach its key goals. Ukraine has not surrendered, as Kremlin expected. Ukrainians have been fighting a real people’s war for their freedom, identity, the right to exist, and define their future, showing unprecedented courage and resistance. Even in the territories under temporarily control of Russian troops, Ukrainian population is actively protesting against them. No one greets Russian invaders in Ukraine.
Faced with military defeats and vigorous resistance,Russian troops began indiscriminate attacks on Ukrainian cities with missile strikes and heavy artillery.
Russian invaders are wiping out Ukrainian towns and villages – Kramatorsk, Volonovakha, Mariupol, Rubizhne, Sievierodonetsk and many others – along with their residents, irrespective of ethnic origin, age and gender, language and belief.
In the course of Russian invasion dozens thousands of Ukrainian militaries and civilians lost their lives, many more were wounded. Millions of Ukrainian citizens were forced to flee from the war: 8 million became internally displaced persons, over 6 millions left abroad. Over 220,000 people lost their homes. More than 13,000 civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged, including roads and bridges, educational and medical institutions, water and electricity networks, cultural and religious sites. Humanitarian assistance remains critical to millions Ukrainian citizens affected by the ongoing war.
The world has been stunned by the war crimes, perpetrated by Russian troops in Bucha, Hostomel, Mariupol and dozens of other cities and villages that used to be or still remain under Russian occupation, suffer from Russian relentless missile attacks in the war zone or far behind the front line.
Ukraine`s ambition is to restore its full territorial integrity. That would include regaining areas of the Eastern Donbass region, controlled Russian-backed forces before the invasion, as well as the Crimean Peninsula seized by Russia in 2014. Ukraine will not make concessions to Russia to reach a ceasefire.
The Russian war in Ukraine is not an issue solely of Ukrainian-Russian relations. It concerns the entire world as its consequences affect regions and countries geographically distant from the war zone.
Russian invasion of Ukraine generated numerous crises on global scale: international peace and security, humanitarian, energy, food security, financial, logistic, ecological etc.
