Federal Minister Health Services and Regulations Amir Mahmood Kiyani has said that sports activities improve our health and only a healthy nation can stride towards development and prosperity in todays world. Government attaches great importance with provision of health facilities to the public. Sports keep us safe from diseases. We welcome Teqball in Pakistan. The government will extend full cooperation in introducing this game in our youth.
Mr. Kiyani was talking to “Pakistan in the World” at a welcome reception on 05 April 2019, hosted by Ambassador of Hungary Mr. István Szabó for the Hungarian Teqball-delegation, which was led by Mr. István Iglói-Nagy, Head of the Sport Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz was also present.
President Pakistan Teqball Federation (P.T.F)Tayyab Chattha and General Secretary Tazeen Akhtar also attended the reception. PTF is working on the promotion of Teqball in Pakistan taking initiative from Islamabad/Rawalpindi. PTF is planning to arrange awareness and training activities at Pakistan Sports Board and in educational institutions in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary.
Mr. & Mrs. Istvan Szabo, the Ambassador and the staff including Mr. Sandor Mihalko welcomed the guests from different walks of life including students who took keen interest in the game and presented a game at the spot.
The Ambassador in his introductory remarks,emphasized that Hungary is a sport nation, which is famous about its outstanding results at the Olympics and various world competitions.
He underlined that sport diplomacy became an important element of the international contacts. The visit of the Teqball delegation is a milestone of the bilateral cooperation on the field of sport relations, which can give a new impetus to strengthen the ties not only on the field of sport, but in other aspect of the cooperation between Hungary and Pakistan as well.
Ambassador István Szabó in his closing remarks expressed his belief that with the Pakistani Government’s initiatives to promote healthy and sporty lifestyle the Pakistani people will witness very interesting times where sports can be utilized as a way of uniting people.
Mayor of Islamabad while sharing his views to Pakistan in the World assured that Islamabad Municipal Corporation will welcome and facilitate all Teqball events in the Capital city.
Mr. Tayyab Chattha said that Pakistan is a young nation and our youth welcomes all sports as their own. We intend to take this game from twin cities to other areas of the country because our youth needs sports activities of every kind. Teqball is an interesting game that not only improves health but also helps in keeping them composed and organized.
During the event the delegation offered altogether two Teqball tables to Pakistan: one for the Pakistan Teqball Federation and an other for the Dost Welfare Foundation in Peshawar, which is a non-profit organisation working with youth suffering from drug addiction or other social difficulties.
Dinner was also served to the guests.
On 06 April, Teqball was again the center of attention in the European Union Festival celebrated at Pakistan National Council of Arts Islamabad. The Embassy of Hungary placed the Teqball Table in the festival in front of their stall where Mr. István Iglói-Nagy, Mr. & Mrs. Istvan Szabo, Mr. Sandor Mihalko and the delegation members again briefed the visitors about the game. PTF office bearers were also present there.
