ISLAMABAD : This year marks the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Tokyo trials. The embassy of China in Islamabad has released a historical video clip of that trial.The Tokyo Trials, officially known as the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE), were international military hearings held to prosecute Japanese leaders for war crimes.

Charges: Indicted under 55 separate counts divided into Class A (crimes against peace), Class B (conventional war crimes), and Class C (crimes against humanity).
Key Outcomes Verdicts: Out of the 28 defendants, 25 were found guilty (two died during the trial and one was deemed unfit due to mental illness).
Sentences: Seven defendants, including former Prime Minister Hideki Tojo, were sentenced to death by hanging; 16 received life imprisonment, and two received lesser prison terms.
