The Resilient Women Network Hosts Interfaith Iftar Dinner at Lok Virsa to Promote Social Cohesion and Inclusivity

Islamabad, March 19, 2025 – The Resilient Women Network (RWN) successfully organized an Interfaith Iftar Dinner at Lok Virsa, Islamabad, bringing together a diverse gathering of Parliamentarians, faith leaders, academicians, civil society representatives, scholars, and distinguished guests from all walks of life.

The event aimed to promote interfaith harmony, inclusivity, and unity by celebrating the spiritual significance of Ramadan (observed by Muslims), Lent (observed by Christians), and Ayam-e-Siyam (observed by Bahá’ís).

The Interfaith Iftar Dinner was a testament to Pakistan’s rich religious diversity, welcoming participants from Muslim, Christian, Bahá’í, Hindu, and Sikh communities.

Bhandara, Asia Nasir, Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem (Chairman Rehmat-ul-Alameen & Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Authority), MNA Nikhat Shakeel, MNA Shaista Jadoon, MNA Nafisa Shah, Christy Urban (Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka), Julia Klein (First Secretary, German Embassy)

The event underscored the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and shared values in strengthening Pakistan’s social fabric. Participants engaged in discussions on interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, and the role of diverse communities in national development.

Speaking at the occasion, RWN representatives emphasized that fostering interfaith dialogue and inclusivity is crucial for building a peaceful and progressive society. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to advancing these values through continued engagement with various stakeholders.

The Interfaith Iftar Dinner concluded with a shared meal, symbolizing the spirit of unity and coexistence. Attendees expressed appreciation for RWN’s initiative and emphasized the need for more such gatherings to bridge gaps between religious communities.
