khadija Shah is the member of Jail Reforms Committee chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan. PTI proposed her name to the Committee. This nomination has raised questions on the merits and justice on both sides, Gov + Establishment and PTI itself.
I recall an English movie in which the Sergeant had to deal with a beautiful accused and he continuously gives her concessions. When the others call his attention to “What are you doing”? He responds with same words every time,” Is she not beautiful”?It was a comedy movie but here in reality another situation is there in Pakistan. It is not a case of beautiful only but the emphasis is on the powerful.
When the establishment of Pakistan arrested American Pakistani Fashion Designer Khadija Shah in 9 May mayhem case (PTI workers attacks on military installations , residences and martyrs tombs), this scribe noted that her arrest is the test case to conclude that law is for all or for the commoners only.
Later when she was first released on bail by police before the Anti Terrorism Court Quetta could hold a hearing and later exonerated, the case dismissed, it was proved that a selective accountability is going on even in this case of interest of the military. Who is Khadija Shah?
She is grand daughter of former late Chief of Army Staff Gen Asif Nawaz Janjua. She is daughter of Salman Shah, former economic advisor and minister of Gen Musharraf. It was clear that she somehow will be cleared because she hails from a military high up background. 
Khadija Shah is sitting in front of Ahad Cheema , minister of PM Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet who spent months in jail in the name of accountability during Imran Khan’s government. The smile on his face looking towards Khadija Shah speaks a lot about what is the state of the governance and equality in the state.
PTI nominated her because of her strong background especially related to military and did not let any commoner worker to represent the party at this forum. Moreover, it indicates that PTI has contacts inside Establishment and the later is giving PTI concessions to some extent at least. Especially when the person is acceptable for her family background.
The military officials were claiming that the culprits of 9 May will not be spared.But it looked impossible to fix the grand daughter of former CAOS. Time has proved the apprehensions of selective justice were right.
It does not ends here that the establishment let her go. She has re-emerged now with another position ,very strong position and that as the jails reforms committee constituted by none other than the new Chief Justice of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi.
It means a known culprit of attack on Corp Commander’s House Lahore on 09 May night will be having a bossy role on the jail officials instead of being imprisoned as other commoner women of PTI are in the jails and facing trials in the courts. 
Khadija Shah was identified by a video that she made herself when PTI supporters were marching towards Corp Commander house. Police was looking for 2 sons of Salman Shah as well because they also had been identified in the videos of attack on Corp Commander house.
Dr Salman Shah, either for his financial expertise or for his relation with former Army Chief whatsoever is highly respected in military circles. His services are most often hired by military thinktanks as well for his lectures on how to improve the economy of Pakistan where his own daughter and sons have been found involved in attacking the houses of military high officials.
Dr Salman Shah used his influence in military circles to save his daughters and sons from legal action. The Military leadership has made it clear only two days ago that the persons involved in attacking the military houses and installations would be prosecuted in military courts. Now the time will tell that the law takes its discourse or family background prevails over law.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Launches Initiative for Comprehensive Jail Reforms
The press release of the meeting of the jail reforms committee has been shared from government’s official information channels having no conscience that what the people of Pakistan can think on this sheer violation of merit and justice and what justice can be delivered by a new judiciary that is hosting the perpetrators of 09 May attacks as its honorable members.
The jails reforms committee with Khadija Shah will see Nelson Mandela’s rules who served 27 years in imprison but never bowed or compromised on the principles of upholding the human rights equal for all, black or white, rich or poor.
Question is who have the noble character like Mandela in Pakistan? He did not have any relative in the military and he never tried his contacts to get concessions from the apartheid regime. Better do not use the name of that great person for your own vested/family interests in the name of jail reforms.
The government of Pakistan got constitutional amendments passed by hook or crook only to keep justice Mansoor Ali Shah from the seat of Chief Justice of Pakistan and that all was done in the name of so called public interest while now it is turning out ,as feared, as actually in the vast interest of the government/ establishment and elite families only.
One can easily conclude what type of justice will be delivered to the people of Pakistan under the new top judicial team facilitated by the powerful to secure the seats they do not deserve.
