ISLAMABAD: U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome called on President, Prime Minister, Speaker National Assembly and Foreign Minister of Pakistan on 15 to 18 March 2024 to discuss a broad range of issues important to the bilateral relationship, including U.S. support for continued economic reforms, human rights, and regional security.

U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome in meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the importance of the two countries’ shared interests and the many opportunities to advance our shared goals, including through high level dialogues and the Green Alliance framework.
The Ambassador conveyed his condolences for the loss of Pakistani soldiers in the recent terrorist attack in Waziristan and assured the President the United States stands with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
Ambassador in meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on 15 March 2024 discussed a broad range of bilateral issues, including partnering with the Government of Pakistan on regional security, U.S. support for continued economic reforms with and through the IMF, trade and investment, education, climate change, and private sector-led economic growth.
Ambassador Blome expressed U.S. support for Pakistan’s democracy and the key role of an independent press.
The Ambassador and Prime Minister also discussed how both countries can work together to accelerate projects addressing climate change under the U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance framework.
Ambassador attaches great importance to the economic reforms as he expressed it in Karach the other day while talking to local journalists. Ambassador said , “If Pakistan maintains a consistent commitment to economic reforms, those reforms will build certainty and confidence for investors and enable economic growth fuelled by sustainable, inclusive, and …. economic development.”
