ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan announces that the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 will be held from 10 to 13 June 2024 in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
The Third Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference is the next in a series of conferences held every two years by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations to support the implementation of the goals of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028.
As part of the Third Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan aims to provide a platform for following up, promoting, and supporting the implementation of voluntary commitments registered in the Water Action Agenda of the UN 2023 Water Conference, as well as stimulating new partnerships and accelerating actions to achieve the goals of the Agenda in the field of sustainable development for the period 2030.
The Conference will gather high-level representatives of the UN member states, UN entities, international and regional organizations, international financial institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, academia, communities, local governments, and other stakeholders.
To provide an opportunity for the promotion of integrated approaches and partnerships, participation of representatives from different sectors out of the water box is encouraged. In this regard all interested parties are invited to participate in the Third Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference.
