World Firefighters Day is celebrated every year on May 4. They fight with fire without any fear and danger and are always ready for the security of the country and nation. The celebration of Firefighters’ Day began in 1999 at the global level, due to the fire that broke out in the city of Lyton, Australia, in which the personnel of the Australian Fire Department participated in the process without caring about their lives to put out the fire. In which five firefighters lost their lives.
After this incident, International Firefighters Day was regularly celebrated to pay tribute to firefighters around the world.According to a conservative estimate, a firefighting service around the world requires one fire station, four fire tenders and thousands of gallons of water for a population of two hundred thousand at all times to deal with any emergency without any difficulty. Because the morale of rescue personnel is always high, so be it fire or flood, accident or tragedy, they are always ready to face any storm.
Today, on the occasion of International Firefighters Day, firefighters of Pakistan’s Emergency Rescue 1122 Service and other fire organizations who lost their lives in the fire at Gaghtar Plaza, Rawalpindi Sadar, salute the firefighters of the world with respect. We also salute those who feel relieved and happy by saving the lives of others without caring about their own lives.
Since its establishment in 2004 Rescue 1122 has become the largest and most effective emergency management system in Pakistan, protecting the lives of Pakistani people from fires, natural disasters, tragedies and accidents.
The assistance given by Emergency Service Rescue 1122 is always based on knowledge and practical experience. The selfless services in Pakistan regarding fire services are commendable and will always be remembered.
All over the world, firefighters are not only given special training in fire fighting but are also introduced to modern safety procedures. The brave firefighters of Rescue 1122 have made eternal sacrifices in the line of duty.
Their immense sacrifices make us realize how important these personnel are to us. We pay tribute to their ability, determination and courage, immense struggle, great spirit and selfless service and we consider them true heroes.
