Seminar on World Environment Day at (SZABIST) – Speaker Emphasize on Collective Responsibility

Islamabad: 06 June 2022 -Speakers in a seminar on World Environment Day at The Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST)  emphasized on the importance of conservation of environment for the next generations. They noted that the countries with environmental issues and destruction do not have a healthy nation and can not attract foreign investments.
The speakers included Ambassador  of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr.  Ulanbek Totuiaev,  Asif Khan of Shaheed Bhutto Foundation, Sumera Gull CEO AHKMT, Farzana Altaf DG Environment Protection Agency Pakistan, Dr Ghulam Rasool, Head Climate Change IUCN Pakistan.
Asif Khan welcomed the guests and shed light on the subject. Sumera Gull shared her experiences of turning the garbage into useful material.
Farzana Altaf said that environment challenges are now environmental disaster. It is not about to happen, it is happened. Now we have to play our role to control it. Everyone has to contribute in this service for the next generations. Government only can not do this.
During his speech, Ambassador U. Totuiaev informed about the current problems and challenges that humanity faces due to pollution of the atmosphere, the world’s oceans and soil, as well as mass deforestation. In this regard, he noted the importance of intensifying the efforts of the world community aimed at protecting the environment, as well as preserving natural biodiversity.
The participants of the event shared their views on topical global problems related to climate change and global pollution of the planet, and also presented their views on effective measures to address them.
At the same time, during the event, representatives of various organizations of Pakistan presented projects demonstrating promising technologies and methods for protecting the environment.
