Lahore, May 8, 2024- The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H. E. Mr. Y. Kistafin, met with the Chief Minister of Punjab, H.E. Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
During the meeting, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin highlighted the Kazakh-Pakistani bilateral relations agenda, ongoing and planned activities aimed at strengthening cooperation and expanding communication channels, while placing special emphasis on the importance of developing relations with Punjab province, which is the largest and most industrially developed region of Pakistan.
In particular, the parties discussed the establishment of twinning relations between cities of our countries and cooperation between Punjab and the regions of Kazakhstan.
An agreement was reached to organize negotiations and visits at the local level authority level to further solidify interprovincial cooperation.
Cheif Minister H.E. Ms. M. Sharif stressed on Kazakhstan being considered as an important partner in the Central Asian region and expressed readiness to fully support initiatives aimed at increasing interprovincial cooperation.
Ambassador H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin extended and invitation to the Chief Minister of Punjab to visit Kazakhstan this year which she gratefully accepted. The invitation to pay a visit to our country aims at giving additional impetus to the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
