ISLAMABAD: Engineering Development Board (EDB) has transformed from manual filing system to Digital Governance i.e., E-Office for cataloguing, storage, retrieval and transmission of official information. The application has been designed with cooperation of National Information Technology Board (NITB).
Secretary, Industries and Production, Mr. Saif Anjum inaugurated the event and eulogized the efforts of both the departments for adapting the E Office system. Engr. Khuda Bukhsh (CEO EDB), Mr. Babar Majid Bhatti (CEO NITB), Mr. Muhammad Asad Islam Mahni (Additional Secretary MOIP), Mr. Asif Saeed Khan Lughmani (Additional Secretary MOIP), Mr. Zulfiqar Hussein (Joint Secretary MOIP), Mr. Faqir Ullah (PD E-Office, NITB), Advisors (EDB) and other senior officials of both departments also attended ceremony and greenlighted the system on Friday, January 17, 2025.
E-Office is a File and Document Management System with single standard file movement and tracking across the Government departments. By implementing E-Office, EDB takes a transformative step towards achieving 100% digitalization in managing files and processes for faster disposal of official assignments.
It will not only create a paperless working environment within the organization but will also create speedy, secure, efficient, standard, verifiable and auditable handling of information and documents leading to smooth operations and efficient business processes which is the need of the hour.
This significant landmark reflects EDB’s commitment in adopting cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance governance, streamline decision-making, cost savings, simplifying information sharing and ensure transparency in all processes.
